She debuted her first single, Here in 2015, when she was just 19 years old. The single was praised highly as well from critics and listeners. It reached number 19 in both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Top Songs. The same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks that reached the heights of Billboard charts, including Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. This particular song was special as it was inspired by her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans connected to her experience in self-doubt as well as learning how to love herself. Cara is known to include messages regarding mental health, kindness and self-love in her songs. Her music is a reflection of her personal struggle in dealing with anxiety and depression. In a conversation with Reuters the magazine, she said that her album was "half chaotic" as well as "half completed". She says she grew through therapy and she encourages anyone else to seek out help whenever needed. Alessia Cara is a Canadian singer who was born on the 11th of July, 1996 to parents who are of Italian ethnicity. Her parents gifted her with a guitar when she was just 10 years old. The guitar ignited her passion for music. In the age of 13 she began covering music she enjoyed on YouTube to demonstrate to her fans that she had the talent to be a singer and determined to pursue an opportunity as a musician. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her famous. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and sing her own tunes.
